Moving on from NY Fashion week to London surroundings..
Fortitude, rebelliousness, and humor are British virtues. Telling a London designer to be cautious and conform to the market in a general crisis will only provoke the exactly opposite reaction. The London resolution is:

'Be true to yourself, and stronger in what you believe in.
Go beyond, be bold!

In depressing days, it’s giving us glitter, reasons to dress up, and a factual reflection of the irrevocable reality of a diverse community.

From oversize chandelier earrings at Fashion East and Badgley Mischka, to sculptural metal art pieces at J.W. Anderson, and huge hoops, jewelry are the accessory du jour for AW17.

We've charted the best of them..

The designer's fall 2017 offering, was as a “style odyssey,” featured a wealth of different ideas, silhouettes, fabrications, and textures. Dresses played a significant part in the collection, ranging from monochromatic to metallic, while fur and leather were seen in leather cropped jackets in brown and black, fuzzy outer coats along with wide-legged pants and sneakers. Every material was rich and sumptuous, while still maintaining an element of sport and wearability.

'You have this idea of something that is über feminine, but at the same time it can crash, and then it kind of builds itself up again.'

At first an elaborate collection of accessories quickly attracted attention.  Anderson understands not just construction and appeal, but the selling power of jewelry. Golden flower cuffs that cover your whole ear? LOVE. Get the look with cuffs from our Solbuer collection, that cover your lobs and your arms!

Over-the-top gemstone shoulder dusters dropped from the lobes of models's ears at Simone Rocha. A masculine meets famine look as a crisp shirt is layered under a jewelled tank, while jewelry were used to offer a new pin on luxe elegance.

'When you are wearing this much bling, a single earring will do..'

We liked the fact that she used only one piece of statement earrings, that becomes the focus point of the entire outfit. This trend works well with either Swarovski earrings (Have a look at our Daily Dots collection) or oversized hoops

Mulberry's vision for today's Mulberry woman, with a select showing of chic, modern separates that had nods to the past.

Inspired this season by the British aristocracy's country pursuits, the designer turned starched classic riding tweeds into trendy, oversize skirt suits, featuring sparing lace detailing and paired with daring patent knee-high boots. To lighten up the sturdy collection, the designer played with printed, quilted, and tiered silks in romantic andn floral prints..

'Gold jewelry took the Mulberry girl out of the stables and into the meadows.'

Paired with brightly coloured, mohair tights, with giant diamanté or gold chain embellishment and oversized jewelry (check our post on 'Is oversized jewelry for everyday'), the effect was modern with a vintage twist. Get the look with earrings that match the earthy tones of the countryside.

Fabrics were a focal point; he opened with a series of heavy silk neo-classical damasks in peach, pink and bright orange, which looked more like a heritage material one might upholster a wing chair in. “We wanted to work with historical fabrics,” he said.

'It’s about the people who make these fabrics as much as the fabrics themselves… combined with history and femininity.'

Among other things he has a great knack for turning questionable ideas into modern luxury, and the brooches were no exception. Kristopher added them to knits, coats and metallic shirt dresses. Discover our handcrafted brooches and nail your look!

With just 11 elegantly structured, intensely feminine cocktail dresses distinguished by impactful silhouettes, vivid colours and surprising textures, she ushered in a completely fresh aesthetic and a strong, women-centered fashion ethos.

'Artsy earrings were the highlight at Roksanda's show.'

Colour was important, because ultimately there are three basic ones - blue, red and yellow - and where those primary shades could be developed was the designer's canvas. Add a splash of red on everything, from coats to jewelry, with our Silver Lava collection..
